VA Campus

The project started out with exploring various forms all with flat mats, linear towers and oblique slabs. My site was a 400ft x 600ft piece of land in the VA Campus in Greater Los Angeles, it was partially covered by the Jackie Robinson Stadium. Preserving the baseball field, my project creates a new ground by lifting it up and generating more occupiable space under it and in it. The towers house functions like residence for the veterans, they range from studio apartments, 1bhk, 2bhk and 3 bhk apartments. The right most encapsulates physician clinic on each floor.Â
This scaleless composition is almost as if it were made and dropped onto the site creating an intend into the ground allowing for entry points into the massing. These linear entry point legs give space for temporary retail stalls as you make your way into the new ground. The mat has programs like baseball seating, basketball court, administrative offices, locker rooms and digital gaming zones, along with cafeteria and bar. It also has designated places for fans to click photos and enjoy the hype as the stars attend to them.
